Chelsea on FM26 - The Boehly Era
£4.25 BILLION takeover in 2022. End of the Abramovich era. Stamford Bridge going to 60,000 seats... in 2042. Meanwhile, 4th place in 2024-25 and Champions League return. Cole Palmer, Caicedo, Enzo - the pieces are there.
Why choose Chelsea?
Chelsea is the most SCHIZOPHRENIC club in world football, and that's exactly why it's a joy in FM. Behind Stamford Bridge's ageing 40,343-seat stands lies a financial behemoth: since the Abramovich era (2003-2022), 6 Premier League titles, 2 Champions League trophies, and a culture of limitless spending. Todd Boehly took over and... spent EVEN MORE. In 2025-2026? Enzo Maresca was sacked on January 1st after just 18 months, despite a SENSATIONAL 2024-2025 season: 4th in the PL, Conference League winners over Real Betis (4-1), and PSG demolished 3-0 in the Club World Cup final. Chelsea sit 5th at mid-season with a monster squad (João Pedro, Estevão Willian, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens...). The talent is there. The project? That's YOUR job.
The young squad
Cole Palmer is a STAR. Enzo Fernández and Caicedo dominate midfield. The academy still produces - Mount, James, Gallagher came through. The potential is HUGE, just needs consistency.
Tactics: vertical possession and high pressing
Maresca's Chelsea played vertical possession football with extreme width and very active central midfielders in transitions. In FM, exploit the squad depth: a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 with quick wingers constantly attacking space. FALSE 9s or mobile forwards combining with midfielders create overloads through the central channel. With Estevão Willian and technically gifted world-class players, you can impose a highly vertical style — short possession, rapid switches into depth, immediate high press after losing the ball. Season one, you build. Season two, you dominate.
Objectives: stabilize then dominate
Champions League is back. Now we must stay there. Then challenge City and Arsenal. Chelsea has the resources - just needs PATIENCE.
Chelsea in reconstruction is the LONG-TERM project. Boehly has the billions, you need the vision. Stamford Bridge awaits its next Mourinho. Or its next Ancelotti. Is it you? Up the Chels!
