Baggies Feast on Clarets at The Hawthorns
The Championship served up another delightful dish of unpredictability this weekend, with West Bromwich Albion carving up Burnley in a thoroughly entertaining 3-1 victory at The Hawthorns. Anyone hoping for a cagey affair would have been sorely disappointed β this was a SPECTACULAR reminder of why we adore the second tier.
The first half promised a tightly contested battle, concluding with the score locked at 1-1. Burnley, perhaps buoyed by their recent form or simply suffering from a momentary lapse of judgment, might have thought they were in with a shout. Oh, how naive. The Baggies, clearly having enjoyed a stern half-time team talk (or perhaps a particularly potent brew of tea), emerged from the tunnel with an entirely different agenda.
What followed was a masterclass in putting a lesser opponent to the sword. West Brom turned up the heat, displaying a ruthless efficiency that left Burnleyβs backline looking more like a sieve than a coherent defence. They pressed, they attacked, and they scored
