If you walked into Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon expecting a competitive football match, I can only assume you’ve been living under a very large, very heavy rock for the last decade. Queens Park Rangers didn’t just lose 4-0 to Middlesbrough; they essentially laid out a red carpet, handed over the keys to the stadium, and asked Michael Carrick’s men if they’d like a complimentary beverage while they dismantled what was left of the Hoops' dignity.

Boro arrived in London with the cold, calculated efficiency of a tax auditor. They didn’t need to be brilliant; they just needed to be present. The first half was a masterclass in QPR’s ability to turn a simple defensive clearance into a slapstick routine. In the 20th minute, David Strelec bundled the ball home after a penalty area scramble that looked less like professional sport and more like a group of toddlers fighting over the last juice box. 0-1 at the break, and frankly, Rangers were lucky it wasn't four then.

The second half was where the "spectacle" really took flight—at least for the travelling Teessiders. Alan Browne doubled the lead in the 67th minute, reacting to a rebound with the kind of urgency that QPR’s defenders seemingly find offensive. Then came Hayden Hackney, who decided that if he was going to be in West London, he might as well show the locals some actual quality. His 73rd-minute curler into the top corner was a genuine STUNNER, the kind of goal that makes you wonder why he’s playing in the Championship while QPR’s midfield is busy contemplating the existential dread of another mid-table finish.

Tommy Conway’s 88th-minute penalty was just the final, unnecessary twist of the knife. It was TOTAL DOMINATION from a Middlesbrough side that now sits comfortably in 2nd place, breathing down the necks of Coventry City. They are five points off the top and looking every bit like a Premier League team in waiting.

As for QPR? They remain 15th, drifting in that wonderful purgatory where they are too bad to dream and just good enough to avoid immediate extinction. If this is "spectaculaire," I’d hate to see what a disaster looks like. At this rate, the only thing QPR will be lifting this season is the spirits of every away team that visits Loftus Road. ABSOLUTE EMBARRASSMENT.
